10 days into September and the site is really beginning to gain momentum. Another press release went out on Monday on Responsesource and Sourcewire and the response from that has been great. More and more users are signing up and that means more and more money is being generated this month.

They say Imitation is the highest form of flattery so I guess I should be flattered that a number of people are keen on copying the idea of ownMySite.com. I happened to notice today that someone is trying to recruit a web developer to "replicate the functionality" of ownMySite.com! I don't really mind and I guess it's an endorsement of the idea if someone is willing to invest their time and money in trying to emulate my site. I suppose it's only to expected as the site gains momentum and more and more people hear about it and good luck to them. It's a good idea, but there can only ever be one ownMySite.com!
The official press release for ownMySite.com went out today on www.prweb.com and it's really beginning to generate some good inbound traffic and write-ups on other sites. I'm hoping that over the next few days as the release gets more exposure it will be picked up by some of the mainstream press.
So we are roughly one week in and the idea is starting to spread simply by word of mouth and we are starting to make some money! Last night I was really pleased to add the ability for users to view their share online. You can now see exactly how much of a stake you own in the site and the current level of your monthly payment.
I'm not entirely sure how or when the idea first came to me - and indeed why I hadn't thought of it a long time ago - but here it is... ownMySite.com!
I'm certainly not adverse to spending money online, in fact I have practically kept some well known bookmakers in business over the last few years. Add in online share trading and booking holidays etc, I have probably spent a small fortune on the web. That's not to say that I haven't had some great holidays and made some money in the process.
