1. What is ownMySite.com?The idea is simple. To create the world's first website where users can own a stake in the business by simply registering and using the site for their everyday internet use. The more you use ownMySite.com, the greater your stake in the business. Everyone is welcome to join and all those who do will automatically own a stake in ownMySite.com. What's more, every stakeholder will automatically be paid a percentage of the site's monthly revenue based on their stake in the company no matter how large or small. The only thing you need to do to increase your stake is to use the site. The more you use ownMySite.com, the bigger the percentage you own. Exactly 50% of all profits are paid directly to stakeholders every month and 50% of any proceeds from the eventual sale or acquisition of the business will be shared between stakeholders. Many sites attract you in with useful content to help you choose your next online purchase for the cheapest price and present you with helpful links to the sellers website. What you may not know is that every time you find the product you like and click a banner or a link that takes you through to the merchants shop, the middle-man gets paid up to 40% of any subsequent purchases that you make with that shop. ownMySite.com believes that these margins should be passed on to you, the shopper. That's why we return 50% of the commission generated on every single purchase that you make through any of our partner sites. Exactly half of any net revenue generated by ownMySite.com through an affiliate sale is returned back to you, the stakeholders no matter how big or small the purchase. Every time you click over to one of our partner merchants from ownMySite.com and make a purchase, you earn money. The more you shop, the more you make. The simplest way to increase your stake is to make ownMySite.com your homepage. You can then make it a part of your everyday web browsing. You can still search google from right here on the site so you'll be assured of getting the high quality search results that you've come to expect. Stakeholders will split 50% of monthly profits between them proportional to their site usage. You will also own a stake in 50% of the potential sale value of the business. 3. Where does the money come from?
When you shop through ownMySite.com with one of our retail partners, ownMySite.com - like all affiliate sites - is paid a commission. The difference is that we share this commision with the people who generate it - YOU! We will track these shopping-generated proceeds and split them 50/50 with stakeholders. We believe that as the amount of traffic increases and thus the number of stakeholders, this will increase the intrinsic value of the ownMySite.com brand. 4. How much can I make per purchase?
The amount of commission is different for each retailer but can range from 3% of the total sale to anything up to 20% and beyond. The total amount raised can quickly add up and the sky's the limit. The more people who shop through ownMySite.com the more money will paid to stakeholders. There is no cap on how much money stakeholders can receive. Top
5. How can I increase my stake?
Your stake in ownMySite.com depends purely on how much you use us. The more pages you view and the more purchases you make through any of our retail partners, the greater your stake in ownMySite.com. 50% of the Net Distributable Revenue of the business is retained by ownMySite.com and the remaining 50% is split between all stakeholders proportional to their usage. Also 50% of net revenue is paid to stakeholders every month. Your stake can go up if you are a regular user, or down the less you use the site. So once you own a stake it pays to make ownMySite.com your homepage and use the site whenever you can. Be sure to log in to ownMySite.com every time you visit so we can reward you for your usage! Top
6. How will I know what my stake is?We will regularly publish the breakdown of each member's stakeholding and your estimated current monthly earnings in the members area of the site. This will show you your percentage of ownMysite.com and allow you to compare your holding to the overall total. We will try to update this data on the site at least twice a week. Top
7. How will you pay me each month?ownMySite.com will pay all stakeholders on a monthly basis. Using the PayPal.com mass payment service, ownMySite.com will make a payment to all registered users once a month on the last day of each month starting with August 2008*. We are able to pay you based simply on your unique email address and you will not be charged any commission by PayPal. You don't even need to have an existing PayPal account to receive payments and will be emailed an electronic payment which can then be withdrawn to your bank account or spent online. ownMySite.com do NOT require any banking details to pay you. Just your email address! You will not be charged any commission on your payment, no matter how large or small. Payments that are not claimed within the standard Paypal 30 day period will be returned to ownmysite.com. * Please note that the first payment to members will be made at the end of August 2008 but September's earnings will be paid on the last day of October 2008. Monthly payments will then continue every month thereafter, paid at the end of each month for earnings accrued in the previous month. This is due to the time it takes for affiliate partners to calculate the final monthly commissions and pay them to ownMySite.com. Top
8. Am I paying more to shop through ownMySite.com? Is this any different than buying directly from the retailer?Absolutely not! Shopping through ownMySite.com is exactly the same as going to the retailer directly – you receive the same prices and level of service. The retailers are responsible for collecting payment, shipping and returns. The only difference being that you will get back a proportion of the cost of your purchase from ownMySte.com in the form of your monthly payments. Top
9. Is shopping through ownMySite.com secure?Completely! ownMySite.com does not collect any credit card or personal information other than your name and email address. The entire transaction is done directly through the partner retailer just as if you had gone to their shop directly. Top
10. Why is there a delay between when I make a purchase and when it shows up in the members area?We will post the data that we receive from our retailers daily in our members area. However please note that retailers may take up to eight weeks to pay commission back to us from the time of your purchase. You may also notice a change in the amount raised due to returned merchandise or cancelled orders. Top
11. Do all purchases qualify for a commission?While the majority of all purchases will generate a commission for stakeholders, each retailer has its own rules and some purchases may not qualify. For example, some retailers do not contribute donations for gift cards or gift certificates. 12. Will you use my email address for anything other than payment?Absolutely not! At ownMySite.com we are not interested in distributing your email address to 3rd party advertisers or sending you unwanted spam. We simply require your email address so we can send you monthly payments and member updates. Top
13. As a stakeholder, will I have any say in the running of the site?Unfortunately not. You will be a silent partner who will simply be entitled to your monthly payments and your proportion of any money raised should we ever sell ownMySite.com. However, if you have any suggestions on how we can increase revenue or provide more value to stakeholders we will be happy to discuss them with you. Occasionally we may invite stakeholders to vote on big issues affecting the direction of ownMySite.com but this is completely at the discretion of ownMySite.com's management. Top
